Terms of service
Last updated: July 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Zero Effort, the operator of Zero Style. By using the site you accept them. They are written to be read, and reading the whole thing takes a few minutes.
The service
Zero Style is a dictionary of graphic design and UI terminology and a converter that turns a plain-language description into a structured design brief. Browsing and search are open to everyone. Saving favorites, collections, and briefs requires a free account.
Your account
Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so let us know through the feedback form if you believe someone else has accessed it. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
Acceptable use
Use Zero Style only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service for any illegal activity. You also may not:
- submit content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malicious code;
- probe, disable, or interfere with the service's security, or attempt to access data that is not yours;
- work around rate limits, or scrape or bulk-copy the dictionary corpus for republication;
- use the service to produce material intended to deceive, harass, or harm others.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where the law requires it, we will report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.
Your content
You own the text you submit and the briefs generated from it. So we can run the service, you give us permission to store, process, and display that content: to show your library back to you, to send converter input to an AI provider for processing, and to make a brief visible at a share link you create.
If you suggest a term or send feedback, you allow us to use that suggestion in the dictionary, including editing it. A curator reviews every suggestion before it is published.
AI-generated content
Parts of the dictionary and everything the converter produces are generated by AI. Generated entries are marked "unverified" until a curator reviews them. AI output can be wrong or out of date, so check anything you rely on. Zero Style provides design terminology and briefs, not professional advice.
Our content
The dictionary corpus, the design of the site, and the software behind it belong to Zero Effort or its licensors. You may read, search, link to, and quote entries. Briefs generated for you are yours to use however you like, including commercially. You may not republish the corpus wholesale.
Availability and warranty
We work to keep Zero Style fast and available, but we provide it "as is," without warranties of any kind. Features may change or be withdrawn. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service; where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the service, which is currently nothing.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Zero Style and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or end access for violations of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as content ownership and the liability limits above, survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and both sides consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will say so in the product before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
