Privacy policy

Zero Style is a dictionary of design terminology and a converter that turns plain descriptions into design briefs, operated by Zero Effort. This policy explains what information the service collects, what happens to it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the service needs to work, we never sell it, and you can export or delete your data yourself from your account page.

What we collect

You can browse the dictionary, search, and read entries without an account. When you do, our servers keep standard request logs (your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request) and short-lived counters that cap how quickly any one visitor can make requests. Both exist to keep the service healthy and to stop abuse. We do not run ads, and we do not load third-party analytics or tracking scripts.

If you create an account, our sign-in provider, Auth0, sends us your email address and the basic profile details it holds for you, such as your name. We set a cookie so you stay signed in between visits.

If you save things while signed in, we store them: favorites, collections, saved briefs, and your conversion history all live in your account so you can return to them.

If you write something, we process it. Text you type into search or the converter is used to produce your results. Feedback and term suggestions you submit are kept so a curator can review them.

AI providers

The converter and some search features send your text to a third-party AI provider to generate results. Depending on configuration this is OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. We send the text needed to answer your request and nothing that identifies you; your name and email are not attached. Each provider handles that text under its own privacy terms.

Cookies

We use one cookie, and its job is to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Share links

When you create a share link for a brief, anyone who has the link can read that brief until the link expires or you remove it. Treat a shared brief as visible to whoever holds the link, and leave out anything you would not want a recipient to see.

Error reporting

We use Sentry to catch crashes and errors. An error report can include technical details about the request that failed, such as the page involved and your browser version. We use these reports only to fix problems.

Where your data lives and how long we keep it

The service runs on Railway. Your account data is stored in our database; cached data, such as sessions and rate-limit counters, expires on its own. Server logs are kept briefly for operations and security. When you delete your account, we remove your data as described below.

Your choices

You do not need to email anyone to exercise your rights. From your account page you can:

• Export your personal data and everything in your library as a file.
• Delete your library and personal data while keeping your sign-in.
• Delete your account entirely, which also removes your identity from our sign-in provider.

Deletion takes effect immediately in the application. If you only ever browsed signed out, nothing is stored about you beyond the short-lived logs described above.

Children

Zero Style is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If the policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we will say so in the product before it takes effect.
